Exciting Stuff

I was recently asked to sell some of my pieces on a website that specializes in "unique and fabulous finds" called Taperoa Village.

So I love watching the MTV award shows but every year I realize I'm old!  Not too much to love in last night's Video Music Awards and the fact it was the 25th anniversary show shocks me...I remember it from the beginning.   I do normally like Russell Brand, the host, but he was a bit out there even given the environment he was in and took it too far many times.  My favorite performance was definitely Pink...I've always liked her and her ex-husband Carey Hart.  I found this clip of the video from the song she performed, So What....totally love that it's about Carey (not in a good way) and he's in it!

Our Anniversary

Friday, Aaron sure planned a special day for us!  I wasn't expecting much because we had the big vow renewal back in July and that was more then enough for me, but as a surprise Aaron planned a wonderfully special day just for us.  I sure married well!  The day started with a delicious dinner at Rivers restaurant.  It was the first time we'd gone to this newer Redding restaurant that was built where the old Hatchcover was located.  It sure was a faaanccy place for us Redn' folks!  Delicious food and we got a special anniversary bonus of yummy truffles too...



Next up was a couple's massage!  How heavenly that was...definitely need to make that a regular thing in our lives.  The Spa Downtown
  
We then did some shopping and browsing at some of our favorite shops and just wandering around the downtown area. 
THEN if it wasn't enough he had booked a dinner cruise on the Sacramento River!  River Romance
Everything about this (and the whole day) was absolutely perfect.  The food was so good and it was such a unique experience to go down the river that way.  HIGHLY recommend it!  

Thank you Aaron for a wonderful day, an incredible 10 years, 2 beautiful children and an adventurous life.  I love you so much and it grows every year. 

The jewelry business sure has been good!

Happy Anniversary to US!

Today is the official day of Aaron and I's 10th year wedding anniversary!  (See 2 months ago today)

He's got big plans for us all day...not sure what yet but I'll keep ya posted!

Beverly Hills 90210 was my very favorite show as a teenager...it's the only thing I can remember that I watched regularly....well that and Arsenio Hall!  Loved Arsenio....

Fire Season

If we didn't have enough fires in the area this summer, we had another one to add to the tally...this one much closer to home.  Just spoke to Aaron...he has been out on this one all day.  Just had a dinner break and will be spending the night out here watching for hot spots.  I'll be thinking of you Aaron!

Tis the Season

What season?  Wedding season!  Well sorta....tis the season to renew wedding vows, at least for some of us!  Since we we didn't know a lot of our friends 'back in the day' we missed their first wedding...now as time goes on people are starting to renew their vows.  Our great friends Alicia and John renewed their 10 year wedding vows on Friday night and we were SO happy to have been able to attend and witness it.  It was a beautiful night and such a beautiful, special ceremony.  It was Alicia's dream to host a wedding in her backyard and I think everything was done perfectly.

I am so grateful everyday to have such wonderful friends, but it makes me even more thankful to be able to share moments like these with everyone.

Soccer Stars

How do you know summer is over?  Soccer season starts!  This year we now have 2 kids in
soccer which means double the practices, double the games...double the fun!  Ella is so excited to now have her own uniform and it's been so fun to see her interact with her coach and learn a new sport.  Jacob has moved up into the big leagues on a U8 team, which means a much bigger field, actual positions (offense, defense, goalie), a referee, and keeping score.  We've had a couple of weeks of practice now, opening ceremonies were Friday night (Aaron and I had to miss it, but Grandma took them-stay tuned for next post for why we missed it), and their first games were Saturday-9:30am and 1:30pm.  We can pretty much plan to spend the next few months of Saturdays at the soccer park!

Back to School Time

Today was Jacob's first day of school...he's a first grader!  He was very unimpressed and unexcited, not to mention extremely sleepy this morning and as we got to the school, but he bounded off the bus with lots of energy and excitement.  He had a great day!

Today is Aaron's birthday, woo hoo!  He's at work today but we've been celebrating it for the past 3 days with family and friends so it's all good!

My Little Model

Ella loves getting new clothes and modeling them...we got some bargains at Old Navy recently and she wanted me to photograph her modeling them.  Here she is...in size 6 clothing...she's only 4!

We're back home with no plans to go anywhere again!

What?  Summer is 'bout over and I'm exhausted!  We just got back from Santa Cruz...visiting family and hanging on the beach.  It was so fun but reality is calling us back.  We have been out of town or planning/packing for the majority of this summer.  School starts in one week...eek!

MB20 AND GIRLFRIENDS

What a great weekend I just had!  Alicia, Kim, Stephanie and I headed to Clearlake and Konocti Harbor for a girls getaway and concert with Matchbox Twenty.  I've pulled them into my madness, moooohaha!!  We had an incredible time, but as always it was just too short.  We got lots of good girl time in though--talking, eating, drinking, dancing, etc, etc.  Music was great and got to hear a couple of fun cover songs I hadn't heard them do, plus heard a new artist, Hodges. Rob's next solo album comes out this fall...so you know what that means?  More concert dates next year!  Click here for some of my pictures
