Just call Aaron "Sweet Honey" from now on!!
Jacob and Nature
Jacob has become quite the outdoorsmen lately! He spends a great deal of time outside after school looking for creatures and tending to his plants. A couple weeks ago he planted a garden with my Mom and he has been very diligent about watering and keeping it up. He's also planted various flowers and vegetables in every spare pot he could find around here and yesterday we planted about 30 sunflower seeds in starter pots. I love how he takes pride in all his plants on and is so conscious of their care. Why he can remember to water his plants everyday but not put his clothes in the hamper, I have no idea!
Another thing we've been keeping an eye on outdoors is our new little baby birds on the back patio! We think there is a total of 3 of them tucked behind one of our speakers.

Basket Party 2008
Whew...the weekend is over. Basket Party 2008 has come and gone. Whew. It was a total success with over $1000 raised for Oprah's Angel Network! That is incredible because we had about 20 fewer people this year than last but raised just about the same. This year's theme went back to the first year (5 years ago!) which was your "Favorite Things." The raffle (this and a portion of the ticket sales is how we raise the money for charity) this year consisted of donated gift cards. We had many generous donors that made for some really nice gift card 'packages' that could be won. The best part about this year's party is that Steph and I had 2 new helpers, our daughters! Worth Quoting
From Dave Barry....
This year, taxpayers will receive an Economic Stimulus Payment.
This is a very exciting new
program that I will explain using the Q and A format:
Q. What is an Economic Stimulus Payment?
A. It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers.
Q. Where will the government get this money?
A. From taxpayers.
Q. So the government is giving me back my own money?
A. Only a smidgen.
Q. What is the purpose of this payment?
A. The plan is that you will use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy.
Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China?
A. Shut up.

We have a Tiger Cub in the house!
Jacob is so excited to have joined the Cub Scouts! He had his first pack meeting today and only wanted Daddy to take him. I see Den Daddy in his future! They did a lot of activities during the meeting and he got to learn the 'secret' handshake and probably his favorite part...make a marshmallow shooter!

The Elusive Coco
So most people I think know we have 2 cats and a dog, however most people have not actually seen all of them...especially our oldest pet Coco. He is not much of a people person and has only allowed Aaron and I to pet him for years. As we acquired more pets and subsequently children, he became even more withdrawn and the kids have always been afraid of him. Well lately Ella has taken it upon herself to befriend Coco and our little cat whisperer has worked some magic! She still can't move to fast around him, but this is something I thought I'd never see!

Home and exhausted
We're back from Vegas and as expected, had a wonderful time! The whole trip was a roller coaster of emotions though and we're glad to be back with the kids. Hmmm...I guess the best thing to do is a recap day by day.
Sunday....Flew in and checked into our hotel (Palms Hotel and Casino). A bit off the main strip and a young Hollywood hotspot which was both good and bad but always captivating...people watching was incredible and saw quite a few quasi-famous people...if you consider reality TV people to be famous that is. Mini-me was an interesting sight...surreal sight, I suppose. Actually just watching the scene was a reality show in itself.
Monday....checked out the strip and Madame Tussauds Wax Museum....this was a lot of fun! You could touch and really check out the celebrities...some were more realistic than others. Spooky haunted house was part of the whole package too with all the famous horror dudes. We did lots of shopping or I should say browsing. I got on a mission to find a purse and Aaron on a mission to find new jeans...both of us successful. We headed to Freemont Street Experience when it got dark. It was St. Patrick's Day. That equals craziness in the seedy (more seedy?) part of Vegas!
Tuesday...Hung around the Palms and the Rio Hotel and Casino which was across the street. Had our one meal of the day at the longest buffet we have ever seen...300+ options...Carnival World Buffet...we highly recommend it...surprisingly tasty food for a buffet. Relaxed by the pool a bit...though we were overdressed for the scene. :-) The evening was the big concert of course! Mute Math, Alanis Morrisette and oh yeah, Matchbox Twenty. The show was incredible though we could do without General Admission seating again. Lots of fighting and pushing...we lived through it though and still had a great time.
Wednesday....Flew home on 2 hours sleep. Awww a great time...time to get some sleep!
Click for photos from our trip! I only used my iPhone to take photos at the show...i wanted to focus on the show rather than take pics the whole time. I have a bunch of great photos from the people all around me though that had much better cameras, plus some video we took that I'll put together into a slideshow later. It's 12:30am and I'm Exhausted....time for BED!

Blog Mojo
I seem to have lost it! It's been a crazy busy last few weeks, just not a lot that's been blog-worthy I guess. I haven't taken too many photos either, well unless you count photos of jewelry. I have amassed quite a few photos on my phone though....I guess the photos on there can sum up my last few weeks...
I guess the most shocking news of the past couple weeks (yeah right!) is I'm blonde again....
Skiing!

Etsy on Martha
I have had an incredibly overwhelming experience to opening my Juella Designs shop on Etsy just over a month ago. I am so thankful, though it's kept me very busy! A big thank you to my Matchbox Twenty fan friends who have been a huge support. I was not fully aware of how big of an impact Etsy as a site is out there in the cyberworld. I have had so much contact from people all over the world and it's incredible! In fact I can now say my jewelry is international. Yesterday Martha Stewart did a feature story on Etsy though I missed it, fortunately another 'Etsian' recorded it and posted to her site. I found it interesting and thought I'd share it here.....Etsy on Martha
