Redding Handmade

N244782410838_2381 Things are really heating up with my Redding Handmade Etsy Team!  The creativity amongst the group is incredible and I look forward to lots of fun events in the coming months to keep us all busy.  The month of May sees a sort of collaboration with Redding Handmade, the Sweetspot and the Fabulous Fabric Shop...every Thursday that month will be a fun evening out.  (Check here for more info about Oh!Carousel!)  Coming up first on May 6th is our first Sweetspot "Rotation." Redding Handmade Rotations will feature 4 artists displaying their goods at the Sweetspot in Redding from 7-9pm.  You will get to meet the artist/designer/creator behind the products as well as purchase items.  This show is just in time for Mother's Day.

The featured designers for May are:

NCharshaf's Handmade Notebooks & Stationery
Julie Packer Designs
Chrystalyn
Oh Baby! Redding

(My turn at Rotations is in July!)

And speaking of my Redding Handmade Etsy Team, I wanted to show you just some of what the Team has to offer...please support them and all handmade artists!

Etsy Love . Dean Russo Art

Iusb_760x100.6012591
While searching for puppy stuff a couple months back, I stumbled upon the most awesome artist who makes gorgeous, colorful pop art portraits.  I was so excited to see that he offered prints of not only a pug but also a lab, both of which looked like my puppies!  You can find his art here....Dean Russo Etsy Shop or here....Website He is an artist based in Brooklyn and according to his bio, creates vibrant acrylic paintings that combine soft touches of realism and the bold playfulness of pop art.  Beautiful!  I'm so happy to have his art in my home...and a bonus, it represents our dog family members.  IMG_0092

Busy with a bunch of studs

You know, earrings?  (wink, wink!)  The other afternoon I fired up the ol' torch which had been cool since before Christmas and had a hot (hardy, har) time making these studs.  You can find some of them (already sold a couple!) in my Etsy shop.

Favorite Things: David Rio Chai - Triple Play

Tiny running recap--still doing it but missed the last couple of days because of the crazy rain storms we are experiencing all throughout California.  I vow to run outside today rain or no rain however.

Screen shot 2010-01-21 at 12.24.01 PM Because of the stormy weather, I have doubled my intake of my absolute favorite cold weather drink chai tea.  And not just any chai tea, I LOVE David Rio Sugar Free Chai Orca Spice.  My Mom and I discovered this powdered version of chai about 5 years ago on a trip to Cambria.  I now purchase 3 pound bags of it regularly on-line and get agitated when I'm out of it.

In addition, it needs to be prepared just so.  My favorite way to make it is with 80% water, 20% non-fat milk, splash of vanilla creamer AND made in my  machine.  If you haven't heard of a Cocomotion it is simply the best way ever to make a hot powdered mix drink.  The machine mixes and heats the drink simultaneously and when it's done it has a bonus yummy frothy top.  Love it.

And to make this a 'triple play' favorite thing...I prefer to drink my chai out of my "I Wanna Be Sookie" mug!   Aaron gave this to me for Christmas, he purchased it on Etsy from MaidofClay and it's the absolute best mug, such great quality and so unique...I can't help but hear Vampire Bill say "Oh...Sookie" every time I drink out of it.  Cracks me up!
