Picture overload

What to do, what to do?  I am in the process of figuring out the best way to to deal with my photographs.  I just figured out that on average I take 1500 pictures a month!  Really hard to put that many in a photo album, you know?  Not to mention the expense of printing them.  Any suggestions?  Taking less pictures is not an option!

Lisa, I hear you! While I don't take 1500 pr month :>), the only pix I put in our family album are special events or unusual/fun activities/trips. I am keeping a separate NY album for NYC adventures. Also, I usually only scrapbook 1/2 (or less) of the photos I end up with after editing. So, if I end up with 25 great photos of an event (example only), only about 8 will end up in the album (so, one 2-page spread). And you already know this about me, but I am ruthless about deleting photos that I don't feel are "perfect." Somehow I am still roughly caught up. I am either really organized or have no life. LOL!

That's great Angela that you're pretty caught up, I'd vote for you're really organized! I really need to be ruthless about deleting the less than perfect ones too...even the ones the kids take, the floor, the ceiling, half a foot, etc. I can't delete! It's a problem and definitely contributes to the 1500 per month. And scrapbooking, man...I'm lucky if I get them into regular photo albums. One day, one day I'll be back at it. Thanks for the response!

Oh, here's something else I do with total religion--when I upload my photos from my camera of a particular event or whatever, I decide on the spot which ones I want to print and up-load them to my cart at Kodak Gallery. Once the cart gets pretty full (about 80 prints or so, I just check out and place the order and pick them up at the pharmacy). Then I stick them in a file at home. Do you still like your Picture Maker? You could just do the same thing, and decide on whatever number to print out at the time. Also, don't be too tough on yourself, you are nuturing a new passion, and that takes time to develop and refine. And, lastly, are you really, really sorry you asked this question? LOL!

LOL, no not at all Angela! That's a good idea to upload them right away to eventually print. My goal was to do it monthly but that didn't work out too well, as I'm 4 months behind. I will do what you suggest and immediately pick the ones to print. A much less daunting project! I still do use the Picture Maker but only for the occasional print or smaller project. I've been trying out a couple different options, I just used Costco but am not really that happy with the prints. Prior to that I used the option within iPhoto to order prints and I believe they used Kodak. I was much happier with their prints, I just have to pay shipping and wait a little longer.

Ok, last comment (I swear!) heh, heh, heh...have you ever tried picking up at Redding Target? I have been thrilled with their quality--they use Kodak Perfect Touch--a little more expensive than Costco, unfortunately (.20), but worth it, especially for prints where it really matters, and you can get them in an hour. http://sites.target.com/site/en/spot/page.jsp?title=photo_center
